Perennial, tuft-forming grass with upright light green leaves, overhanging and pointed at the end. The flowers are produced on a flower stalk with terminal, approx. 30 cm-long panicles giving rise to small fusiform grass seeds.
The versatile lemongrass can be used as a spice, as tea or as a perfuming agent. If gently bashed using a mortar and pestle before cooking, it releases even more of its intense lemon scent.
Lemongrass is used frequently in Asian cuisine and is also a popular herb in our tropical dishes. Freshly picked stalks are sent to the kitchen and dried for our tea experience tour.
