Pilea repens

Black-leaf panamiga

Ground-covering, creeping plant with round, succulent, dark green leaves with distinct venation and decussate leaf structure. Several pale orange-white flowers are produced in the centre, forming a bunch.

Black-leaf panamiga is also known as the artillery plant, as it ejects its pollen from the parent plant like a cannon.

We have chosen the pretty black-leaf panamiga as underplanting at the Tropenhaus as it forms a continuous dark green carpet with small flowers.
