Moringa – the drumstick tree
A tropical tree that grows here on Frutigen soil, this high-protein plant is also on everyone’s lips thanks to its beneficial properties.
So what is Moringa?
The leaves, flowers and seeds of the tropical Moringa tree are used to make tea, powder and oil. The powder can be used in various ways, for example in soft drinks, soups, dips, pasta and baking. But Moringa is also attractive as animal feed. Moringa leaves are nutrient-rich and contain a wide range of vitamins and minerals. What makes Moringa special is the high protein and iron content in the leaves, making it an attractive product for vegans and raw food aficionados, too.
Valuable nutritional supplement
A number of international organizations have also recognized the benefits of Moringa. In countries with poor nutritional conditions especially, Moringa is also an important way of providing missing essential nutrients. As Moringa also grows well in adverse agricultural conditions, it is a very useful crop for this problem.
