Focus on fish production
After a thorough review, Coop has decided to focus its collaboration with Tropenhaus Frutigen entirely on the successful fish farming business, as of 21 May 2024. Tropenhaus Frutigen believe in the future of sustainable production of Swiss caviar and perch. The SME in Frutigen will hereby fully focus on an important core business area, thus laying the foundations for its continued successful operation.
This closure follows an in-depth analysis, which was conducted for economic reasons. The analysis has shown that, despite many measures and improvements, as well as the great commitment of the employees in recent years, it has not been possible to create a sustainable and self-supporting financial basis for further years.
The Tropenhaus Frutigen regrets the need to close this portion of the business. The affected employees will be offered alternative employment within the Coop Group.
Customers have the opportunity to redeem their voucher until May 20, 2024. From 21 May 2024, the vouchers can be exchanged for Coop gift cards. We will inform you in due course what the process will look like. Please do NOT send us any vouchers by post until then. We accept no liability for vouchers that have already been sent.
The Escape Room will remain open until further notice despite the closure of the Tropenhaus.
