A decisive element for the success of the project is that the utilisation of the warm mountain water can be guaranteed over the long-term.

Within the framework of a refrigeration contract, an agreement has been made with the BLS Netz AG regarding the utilisation and cooling of the mountain water from the tunnel.

Within the framework of a heating union (heat contracting), it has been agreed that the heat energy from the mountain water that is not needed by the Tropic House Frutigen project can be used for the heating of new buildings in the railway station area or for existing buildings. The contract partners of the BKW are the Tropic House Frutigen, Wandfluh Produktions AG, the BLS and the BLS Netz AG.
